How We Estimate AI TV Channel Costs

An always-on channel does not necessarily require an always-on generation pipeline. The useful question is how much new footage you create and how often you reuse it.

Start with the generation rate

The calculator selects a sourced provider rate from the site’s central pricing data. Some providers bill by generated second, while clip-based providers bill complete clips. The calculator applies each provider’s billing unit before producing daily, monthly, and annual estimates.

Separate fresh output from a reusable library

Fresh-generation mode prices the new footage made each day. Library mode separates the one-time cost of creating a reusable catalog from the recurring cost of daily refills. This makes the tradeoff between variety and repeat playback visible without treating every broadcast second as newly generated video.

The estimate covers generation API costs represented in the source data. Streaming delivery, storage, editing labor, retries, electricity, and hardware remain outside the total unless explicitly stated.
